Exercise and Motivation

Adding exercise to your daily routine is an essential part of getting and maintaining a healthy life style as well as a healthy and trim body. We would all love to be able to eat whatever we want without having to worry about the extra pounds adding up; however, that just isn’t always possible. Exercise, even if we are eating healthy, is still important to maintain a healthy body and mind; yet, it is not always easy to find the motivation to exercise as we should.

For many of us, finding the time in our busy schedules to fit in exercise is a difficult thing to do. Then there are many of us that even cringe at the thought of exercise as we see it as something we have to do which makes it something we don’t want to do and may cause us to put it aside; always saying we’ll start the next day.

Finding a motivation, other than losing weight and staying healthy, is hard to do. One of the best ways to find motivation for exercising is to find something that you enjoy doing. You do not have to go to a gym five days a week to exercise unless this is something you want to do. You can choose something that you love to do whether it’s walking, riding a bike, swimming or whatever.

The important part is that you choose several different things that you like to do and mix them up so that you do not become bored with your exercise routine and you will enjoy it. Walk to the store one day, ride your bicycle a few miles another day, go swimming during the warmer months and incorporate other things into your daily activities such as taking the stairs instead of the elevator. To find the motivation to exercise, you need only to find the activities you enjoy doing anyway.
