Fun Exercises: Keeping Disciplined

Unless you’re really dedicated and self-disciplined, there’s no way you’ll keep to an exercise regime that you don’t enjoy, so if the thought of pounding the streets doesn’t fill you with joy, then don’t take up jogging. Of course, jogging around a beautiful park may be much nicer than on a busy road, and jogging with a friend could also raise the fun element so maybe it’s not time to rule it out altogether!

It’s not just jogging, though; the principle is the same with any exercise. One of the current exercise crazes is Zumba, and to listen to its advocates, no greater fun has ever been invented and you’ll burn many more calories than usual through laughing! That’s great if your inhibitions have taken a hike, but it’s not for everyone.

The tip, then, is to think about the kind of person you are, whether you can incorporate something that you already love doing into exercise, or whether you want to try something new – and then do it.
