Train to Gain: The Three Groups of Exercise You Need

It’s no secret that it’s necessary to exercise in order to keep fit and healthy – and also to maintain a weight that you are happy with. This knowledge leads many people to embark on a training regime in order to get the result that they are after.

In fact, different types of training can affect different parts of the body and so can be used to have a positive outcome on muscle building, athletic skills, the cardiovascular system, the immune system; and can help to prevent many diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and depression.

Before you decide what kind of training to do, consider what it is you are hoping to gain. Exercise is generally grouped into three different types: Aerobic – these include walking, swimming, cycling, skipping, and jogging and will improve heart performance.

Anaerobic exercises, such as weight training, sprinting and high intensity interval training improve muscle strength; and flexibility training, such as Tai Chi improve movement of the joints and muscles.
